Thomas Bell & Sarah Colburn 3

Thomas Bell born 10th of December 1809 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Son of John Bell and Nellie Robinson. Thomas died 1869 in Andrew county, Missouri. Married Sarah Colburne (date pending problem) in Rochester, Andrew co., Missouri. (POSSIBLE HE DROWNED NEAR WAVERLY, MO JUNE 6 1964 SEE:http://www.rulen.com/partisan/roster.htm )

Thomas was a Kentucky farmer and moved to Doniphan Co., Kansas when it was a territory. He served in the first legislature of the territory and as a compensation he received two lots in Topeka, Kansas. Being a free state man, it required all his ability and exertion to keep his farm, as everything was done to get him out of the county. During the Civil war he went to Illinois, after which he returned to Andrew co., Mo. where he died.

Sarah Colburn born 2 April 1804 in Chatam, North Carolina is the daughter of John Revel Colburne and Elizebeth Barbara Petty. other marriage: John E. Houston b. 1822 d. 1852(SOME SAY BITH AS 1824.)

She died after Thomas, with two children by a previous marriage...David.L. b.1843 and Richard Houston. b.1846 The Bell children were: Caroline, wife of Weathermon; Eliza the wife of I.Jackson; Elizabeth; John; and Fanny who married C. Holland, of Nebraska
