Sir Robert Pollok b. 1606 had at least two sons, Thomas Pollok and Robert Bruce Pollok. Thomas took over the Irish estates located in Donegal county not far from Londonderry. He married in 1646 his cousin Annabella granddaughter
of Sir George Maxwell of Nether Pollok and Annabella Stuart lineal descendant of King Robert 3rd.
Sir Robert inherited the estates in Ireland and became the founder of the family in Ireland. Where
the name to this day is often spelled and pronounced P-o-l-k.
